Registration for this class is now CLOSED

This is a multi-week course to help you become an Amateur Radio operator.

We begin with several weeks of lessons, mentoring, and homework assignments via E-Mail. There is no fixed schedule for this portion of the class, you may proceed at your own pace, when you have available time in your busy schedule. There is however a deadline, all assignments must be completed before the first in person classroom day. We are here to help you succeed! Your volunteer instructors are just an E-Mail away!

The second part of the class consists of two full days of in person training, followed by the exam. During this part, we will review all the material, provide practical examples and hands-on experience. At class conclusion an exam session will be held.

As part of your registration, you will be placed on a class discussion list. This E-Mail list will be used to send assignments, and for you to ask questions and reach out to your volunteer instructors.

You are required to purchase your own textbook.

This class and exam are provided completely free of any charge to any interested person!

We provide free training by leveraging a mixture of volunteers, sponsorship, and you! Our volunteers have a deep passion for ham radio and want to help you, please ask as many relevant questions as you wish. Please remember, they are volunteers, most work full time and have busy lives (just like you) and will answer your questions as soon as they can. Sponsorship involves a radio club (Kings County Repeater Association), manufacturers, publishers and retailers (such as Alinco, Icom, ARRL, and Amazon) who provide hand outs and prizes for the class. Lastly, you help by purchasing your own textbook, printing assignments and paperwork yourself. No entity or organization pays any fee to make this class possible.
