Ham Radio Classes

The Greene County Amateur Radio Club (in cooperation with the Kings County Repeater Association) will sponsor a class to help you pass the FCC Technician amateur radio exam. This is a hybrid class consisting of several weeks of assignments and assistance via E-Mail and two days of hands on, in person training, followed by the exam. Knowledge of Morse code is no longer required.

This class and the accompanying exam will be provided absolutely free of charge!

The E-Mail part of the course is set to start on Sunday, March 3rd, 2013. The in person part of the class (and exam) will be held on April 20th and 21st from 8:00 AM until 6:00 PM right here in Greene County. Exact address and room number will be provided as the dates approach.

While this class is open to the public, priority will be given to employees/volunteers of Greene County, and the following organizations National Guard, Red Cross, and Columbia Memorial Hospital. The GCARC and the KCRA will in no way be liable if, for any reason, you are removed from this class to make room for an individual belonging to one of these organizations.

Students whom complete all assignments and pass the exam  are given the opportunity of joining the Amateur Radio Relay League.
