IT news site would sacrifice ham spectrum. PDF Print E-mail
Written by KB2BSL

Today my favorite IT news site Theregister.com posted an article suggesting bands be taken away from amateur radio in the USA.

In the article titled “FCC calls for more frequencies”  written by Bill Ray, the author states:

“It is much easier to just take bands away from the amateur radio crowd, such as 2360-2400MHz (just below the wi-fi bands) which GE Healthcare has been trying to get reallocated for a while now (FCC consultation PDF).”

It gets worse in the comment section, with a poster calling for ham radio to be ¼ of what it is today, and another insinuating that we don’t listen to the rules anyway.

Please visit the site, and leave a comment in support of ham radio.

The article can be found here.
