Another special event by the KCRA without CW! What gives? Are you guys a bunch of no coders? I can't understand why Echolink and no CW? You guys lazy?

Hey guys nice looking site. I stumbled upon it searching for Sept. 11th special event stations. I was deployed to NYC for 3 months to help out after that tragic day, and it was while I was there that I met some ham radio opeators who helped me make up my mind to go ahead and get my amateur radio license. I plan on trying to work your station. 73 de Keith KC8TCQ

Hey guys, it was great hanging out with you at the lighthouse on Saturday. I was glad to be able to share some of the history and my family's stories, and I'm going to try to get over to Maker-Faire if possible, too!

I'm back in the city and there's so many changes. The new site looks great. I've been hitting it better than the old location. Echolink is a great idea. See you on the net.

Saw the notice in QST. It's good to see an active club participating in special events. It's also nice to see you guys are not afraid of the digital modes like PSK and D-Star. You should have a CW station though. So many other clubs here in the city are all talk and no doing, and afraid of digital stuff. I think I'll stop by the next meeting and join!

Nice site and nice repeater. The only improvement I'd suggest is to ditch the echolink silliness. KCRA has been around a long time. It is important to the ham community in this part of the country. To have hams giving each other 59 "signal reports" over the internet is an embarrassment and a "black eye" to the veteran hams who helped build up the KCRA from the beginning. My two cents...

Hi Hams from Brooklyn and the rest of the area around N.Y. City, This is Michael, I´am a crewmember of PC400BKL. Sunday 11.15.2009 we are standby and active with dx on HF. UTC. 13.00 till 11.00 pm.Find us and check the clusters. Visit also www.qrz.com. ---------------------------------------------------------- In 1609, Henry Hudson, exploring for the Dutch East India Company, discovered the island he named ‘Manna-hata’ and laid the foundation for the Dutch presence in America (www.henryhudson400.com) Four centuries later, the island is still known as ‘Manhattan’, and many more reminders of Dutch heritage live on in the area (think of Harlem [Haarlem], Brooklyn [Breukelen], Wall Street [the wal built on the northern boundary of New Amsterdam, now New York City], and Staten Island [Staaten Eylandt]. This year marks 400 years of uninterrupted friendship between The Netherlands and U.S.A. To help celebrate that important milestone, the B.I.G. amateur radio group www.pa6big.nl. has launched a special call: from PC400BKL. The participating B.I.G. members are: PC2LR, PA7JB, PE1EZU, PE2BER, PA7ML, PC2F, WP3UX, PE1PGA and NL-13405. Beside QSL-cards via the bureau we also use e-QSL.cc. If QSL direct is needed pse send SAE + 2$, 1€ or 1 (new) IRC to PC2F. If no SAE and postage fee the QSL will be sended via buro.
